S.O.S. All-Star Drummers: Wembley Concert intro |
|
About
On
Saturday 7 July 2007, there were a series of 'Live Earth' concerts staged
around the world to raise awareness about our current global
climate crisis.
Our little team at Maguffin made the unique films that accompanied
the artists & bands’ performances not only at Wembley
Stadium but also around the world.
SImon directed the films, Astrid Edwards fearlessly produced,
Philip Richardson & Simon edited them and Rupi Randhawa,
Thom, Hannah and Imogen assisted in all aspects of the production,
overlooked as ever by James’s watchful eye!
We scoured through hundreds of hours of footage from Getty,
National Geographic and the BBC archives to put together these
films that celebrate the beauty of our world and demonstrate
some of the not so beautiful things we are doing to it.
We worked non-stop around the clock over just over a month to
achieve this goal, we’re very proud of our work and to
be associated with such an important and essential cause.
This particular film was used to open the Wembley Live Earth show, to the accompanyment of over a hundred 'S.O.S. All-Star Drummers', led by Roger Taylor (Queen), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) & Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and including The Dhol Foundation, Taiko drummers, Jim Kilpatrick's Shotts and many more, musically directed by Andy Gangadeen.
